Hello! I just acquired a colony of honeypots, with around 12 workers. They’re in a test tube currently, but I plan to purchase a THA formicarium for them soon!
Hopefully this colony doesn’t die, these ants look amazing even when they don’t yet have repletes.
Pics coming soon :)

Yeah another Honey Pot journal. They are a funny species and hope you have fun with them. Where'd you get them if I may ask.

Fed them some cut up mealworms, they didn’t come near it. ill offer some dubia roaches tomorrow.

i also added some honey, and saw a worker drinking it.

They have a nice pile of larvae, and multiple cocoons, so hopefully those will hatch soon

I've been reading myrmecocystus journals and the high mortality rate has me worried, hopefully these will do well :)

You should move them into a formicarium where they can get repletes as soon as possible.

Yay, terrible iPhone pics!

its ridiculously hard to get good pictures of ants in a test tube

the shine is always there ;-;

but anyways you can see they have some brood and the queen is beautiful

i’m most likely going to order a fortress or mini hearth later this week

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

Looking forward to seeing growth!  I hope they don't randomly keel over and die like many myrmecocystus do!
