Drawing nothing is very challenging, you cannot use a medium! What is your secret?!

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Is everyone posting manga-style art? I did one recently for the first time in years. But lately all I seem to draw are bugs.

It's actually done in the Sketches app (apple pencil, iPad). I've done enough online art over the last 3 decades (!!) that I can use mouse or trackpad as well, but graphics tablets and apple pencils make things a lot faster and easier.

i drew acromyrmex versicolor other day with alex wild's photo of a queen for reference. the only thing is that i probably didn't get the important details that identifies them, and the only way you can tell its acromyrmex versicolor is that I wrote Acromyrmex Versicolor in huge letters Lol
