i don't have Pogonomyrmex, but feed them grass seeds and sunflower seeds without their shells.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

In the order that my P. Californicus prefer. All organic, non-salt, no additives, no shell:

1) Poppy seed (Sprouts spices section)

2) Kentucky Blue Grass (Online)

3) Sunflower seed (Sprouts bulk bin section)

4) Hemp Seed (Sprouts health/vitamin section)

Edit: Removed a duplicate in error.

I second this. I don't have direct access to all of these seeds, so I just feed them grass seeds and sunflowers, however this much variety would be very beneficial to the colony's health.

I'm going to try it this weekend! Haven't given them that before. Have you by any chance also tried sesame seeds as well?
