Hi everyone,

I am getting a small colony of Myrmecocystus mexicanus and I was reading up on them for like the fiftieth time but I would like to hear what you guys feed your honey pots. Everything is greatly appreciated.

I feed my testaceus fruit flies, and diluted red hummingbird nectar.

Fruit flies are certainly what a lot of people feed their honeypots from what I have seen on the forum.

Edit: And honeywater too.

i always have nectar avaliable for them 24/7 with byformica feeder.

Main source of protein are mealworm, crickets, fruitflies, and bloodworm.

But seems like they are more active with crickets abd fruitflies so i try to rotate them time to time.

1st meal of the week - meal worms
2nd meal of the week - cricket -> fruitflies -> bloodworm
