I found a bunch of these guys last night. There were so many everywhere. It got to the point where I ran out of collection containers. I could have gotten hundreds if I had enough containers. I put these guys in test tubes with fine quartz sand. I'm attempting to get a poly colony of these guys just because I haven't seen anyone else try to. Hopefully these do good. I've never had a queen of these and now that I have a lot I will most likely get a colony out of these. I won't check for the next month or so because I don't want to stress them.

Where did you find them exactly? I’m curious on good honeypot anting locations as those are my #1 to obtain this year.

Most people won’t give away their best anting locations publicly. Go out and explore, its part of the fun!

Update 9-8-20

So I accidentally killed 9 of these along with 3 Novos because of a stupid box. I had to open the main pot box to make sure they all weren't dead because of what the heck just happened. Only 2 pots had died and the rest were thriving! The polygynous one had like 30-50 eggs and 30-50 larvae. It was crazy. The other ones had a lot of larvae too. Final count it 16.

Update 9-19-20

I did a a check on these guys and they are doing great. They all have a lot of larvae and pupae. They should get workers by the time I check them next which is the 30th. Hopefully I get very few deaths in the next few weeks where a bunch start dying. 16 still alive and doing well.

Update 10-11-20

These guys finally started to get workers. So far 5 of these have workers. My best colony has 6 workers with around 35 pupae. I boosted this queen because my original best queen died leaving 19 pupae. I decided to give the 19 pupae to my second best queen with 17. Currently they have 6 workers with many more to come in the next few days. The other colonies have 1-3 workers. A few of the queens died or are duds so most likely I will end with 7 or 8 colonies. Either tomorrow or Tuesday I will move my best colony into a Mini Hearth XL. I currently have the ones with workers in pencil cases.

Update 10-12-20

I moved my best colony into a Mini Hearth XL. Haven't gained a worker today but more should come soon when they are moved in completely.

Update 10-20-20

These guys are doing very good. The colony in the mini hearth has around 23 workers. My other colonies are also doing very good. The count is 13, 8, 8, 6. My best colony had a few deformed workers that couldn't make it but they are still doing very good.

Update 10-26-20

I am very sad to say that my mini hearth colony's queen has died. I am pretty sure it died because of their high mortality rate. I have been taking good care of them and not giving them anything out of the ordinary. The colony still has like 24 workers and a lot of larvae and pupae. I am probably going to just combine these with another colony since they seen to except new queens and workers once their queen dies. My other colonies are doing pretty good though. My best one having 15 workers while the others have 10, 9, and 6. I will update you guys when I try to combine the doomed colony with another colony.
