Hey guys, I found this queen today. It’s a Lasius but I’m not sure what kind. I’m confused because don’t they usually fly around Labor Day? This one already had pupae so i don't know. Any help is appreciated!

Jonny

She clearly did not fly recently. Could be Lasius americanus because I think they fly earlier. Was she in a forested habitat?

Yes. Pretty dense woods under a rock. I found another one yesterday but was crazy enough not to get her haha.
