Caught him outside in my backyard on a concrete floor. Took him inside to give him 6 hydei flies and he munched each one like I would eating tri tip at a buffet restaurant. Then I took him outside to place him on a plant, but he continued to stay on my hands, and snatch a few gnats with precision, speed, and accuracy. He's small, but with quite an appetite. What a beast for a feast.

Nice find! You and I live in the same area. Here’s my mantis.

It looks like they could be the same species but I’ve been unable to confidently ID mine. I found her as a L2 in early June. As of Saturday she’s L6. Yours looks like she could be L5 because she doesn’t have wing buds yet.

Nice. They are definitely the same. Hopefully, mine would get to L7 with the last feast, and some day find a sex partner in the wild.

This is Stagmomantis, not Hondurantemna.

Both of you have Stagmomantis.

Hmm. I was looking at this image from this link, and its back was shaped exactly like the image. I checked stagmomantis images, but it's back doesn't seem to be shaped like the one in my photo. Sorry to question your expertise. I may be wrong though. Please tell me what you think.

This is Stagmomantis and is most likely S. limbata.  The species you named has a neotropical distribution, which is limited to southern Mexico and below.
