About 6 weeks ago, I first noticed a small Polistes nest on the outside of the door frame of my front door.  They are now starting to multiply.

The nest is located only about 6 ft. high and is attached to the front of a small picture window frame next to my front door.  You can see the white door frame on the left side of the photo.

They will protect me from the bad people who might knock on my door. Humbug.

This may be a new avenue for ByFormica to take.

First, I've got to make sure they are smart enough not to attack the property owner.  Product liability lawsuits would be high on the list of possible concerns.

They also stop working in cold weather.  Maybe robotic wasps would be better?

Those are such pretty wasps. I'm probably biased against my local ones since I've seen them forever though.

Perhaps genetic engineering would work..........

Bald faced hornets are known for remembering faces. What if they were somehow modified to attack a face they didn’t recognize? And to the prevent it from attacking someone you know you could show them their face before hand. (Me trying to figure out the real life applications of this)
