Hello, I was just milling about today at around 12 O'clock, when all of a sudden I saw what I thought to be a queen ant, so I caught her and I have her now in a test tube setup, however I'm not completely sure she is a queen as she is so small that I can't tell if she has wing scars or not. If you could help me out with telling me if she is a queen or not (if so what kind) that would be really helpful, thanks. (Sorry the pictures are so low quality, if you'd like I could take some better ones)

-she's around 1 cm or less / Less that half an inch

-I caught her around 12:00 today, July 10, 2020

-I caught her in my backyard in Mississauga, Canada (right beside Toronto)

-I believe she is a queen due to that fact that her thorax is so large in comparison to the rest of her body

Congrats, you caught a Tetramorium (likely immigrans as said above) queen, this is a great beginner species. Active, and colonies grow very quick.

If you have not already, I suggest you read the ant keeping guide for beginners. It is extremely useful for keeping ants.
