Pictures don’t do this ant justice.  It glows bright yellow and black.  Pretty awesome.

I would guess this is not a queen. What do you think?

1. Location (on a map) of collection:

Gilbert, AZ (suburbs of Phoenix)

2. Date of collection:

July 1st, 2020

3. Habitat of collection:

Typical Phoenix neighborhood

4. Length (from head to gaster):

About 8mm

5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:

Gold, black, yellow, white (it’s looks silver though in the photos)

6. Distinguishing characteristics:

Super-fast!  I had to run after this ant to catch it!  (well, almost)

Forgot to add that it has white / silver strips on each side of it's abdomen.  At first I thought it was a cut but both sides are matching.

Ground wasp?

Well, if it's not even an ant, that would explain a lot for this beginner ant keeper!  lol
