Today, when I was checking on my ants, I saw that there were 4 escaped carpenter ant workers. I own 2 species. When I collected these queens (who have small colonies inside test tube setups) I made the classic mistake of being overzealous and having to many. I have like 8 carpenter ant colonies that seem to be the same species as the escaped workers. I have a plan. I'm pretty sure these 4 escapees belong to the same colony, but I will put them in the same tube. I'm probably going to put these ants in the fridge, and use one worker to test per each colony. Is this a good idea?

Can you sell your extra queens? Get on GAN, and you’ll make good money.

That's what I am currently doing, in an effort to pay back my hobby debt and get fluon. I don't know any solutions to this problem besides the very time consuming solution I proposed.

I feed escapees to my trapjaws. Their punishment for straying into the forbidden lands.
