Not my photos. At first I thought these were like a version of the cute "jumping spider wearing a water droplet hat" thing, but no, this is much more cool and just as cute. Photos by Analiza Daran De Guzman. (Link came via Facebook.)

I believe the ‘incredible’ part is that they were supposedly taken with a normal smart phone camera lens. But I agree that there is better ant photography out there, even on this forum.

Ah, okay, sorry to be uninteresting. :facepalm: I haven't seen ants carrying water droplets before. And yes, given this person was doing this at home, with a phone, I think these are pretty cool. And anyway, I like nice photographs of ants doing ant things. Sorry for sharing reasonably nice photos of ants doing ant things on an ant forum. :facepalm: Yes, I have seen Alex Wild's photography, but so have you and so has almost everyone else. And yes, he's still the go-to source for professional ant photographs for me.

My issue is that these photos are almost certainly setup and manipulated, ants do not normally carry water droplets externally. Any h2o is generally ingested for transport. My guess is that the ants were put in place and sprayed lightly with a water bottle. For example the ant holding the droplet over its head is actually inverted as are the images of the ants carrying any heavy object over their heads.This is a similar scenario to all the frogs doing things photos. I am also not convinced these were taken with a phone.
