I've heard of polistes using nests belonging to other foundresses, but will they use old nests from previous years?

Wasp queens forage, and have territories, so if you see one in your yard once, you are likely to see it again.

I have a journal from my attempt last year. Over all it was a good expirience and would totally recommend people give it a shot at least once if you are interested.
