Hello,
I'm going to go to China (Honk Kong) during these Easter holidays and I'd like to know if, by any chance, the mating flights had started there ? If yes, what species can I hope to find ?
Thanks a lot.

You aren't planning on bringing non-native ants back to your home place are you? If so, that would be illegal.
It all depends on his location. For those in US or Canada it would be. For other locations, the rules can vary greatly.
In China, depending exactly where you are, any temp over 18C is prime for flights. Keep your eyes open - and take lots of pictures for us! ![]()

Ants4fun :I live in France, and the rules aren't as harsh as in north America...
Crystals : Okay, thanks !
I hope I'm gonna find plenty of queens ! ![]()
I'll try to make a little report ! (but I'll need your help for the ID 'cause i'm really bad for identifying exotic ants...)

Ok, sorry for the misunderstanding lol. A cool species I think is in China is Phiedologiton divercus. I think there name got changed to something else though...
It's now called Carebara diversa.
Oh yeah they look soooo cool !
I've just read their mating flights were every 3 months ! I hope I am going to find a queen... (even though I'm not sure they live in the city ?)
I am not sure you are going to find them in the city. Maybe you have to go in a park or in a more natural habitat.
