I have a Camponotus queen and I'm not sure how often I should check on her without stressing her out to much, does anyone know how often I should check?

It really depends on what kind of person you are. I recommend setting a schedule. For me, I check on my queen ants once every other week on Friday evenings. It is the thing that tends to get me through the week days to look forward to – which can be nice. There is not "set rule" but try your best to check up on them sparsely.

I check on my P. imparis queen once a week (usually every saturday). She seems to be doing fine.

I've been checking on my founding colonies once a week.   if I get really busy, twice a month.  they seem to be doing fine.

Camponotus queens don’t get too stressed when you check them. Once a week is good like others have said. By checking them I mean gently lifting some sort of cover and taking a look. Don’t lift up the tubes or anything.

I check on all my ants every day. Even founding queens. I don't recommend you do it, but, its not always horrible.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
