1. You have to have your location on your profile to buy or sell ants (please change it and reach out if you need help :) ). 2. It's Michigan which is a temperate region, so there are pretty much no ants that don't need diapause (hibernation). Hope this cleared up any questions :)

Hi I'm a new ant keeper (by new I meant I've NEVER done this), which one of your options would you recommend, I'm looking for no hibernation and pretty active. My parents say that they have to be fairly large (cause they're scared of escape). Thank You!

No, he's from San Diego.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

So you do have a colony of camponotus fragilis, which is the only listing you have that DOES NOT require hibernation correct?

Because they are S Cali species and I'm in Central I also collect a lot of species from Central Sierras so those ones have to hibernate because of the snow.
