Worker “exploring” till death

Just curious if this is normal. I had one of my Camponotus sp02 running laps nonstop in the out world yesterday and this morning it’s dead. Normal? Do I need to give them a bigger outworld?

This may be similar to what my formica francoeuri ants are doing. They go crazy then die its so strange

Ants that know they're dying try as hard as they can to get far away from the rest of the nest. Once you start seeing this behavior, you can be sure that worker is about to die. I would just remove them.
