I bought a jailbroken iphone 5s from my friend and i restored it form the phone settings to get rid of cydia and now its stuck in a update that won't load at all

Sounds like you bricked it.  Probably only the Apple store can repair it.

i tried it on the computer and it still won't leave the update screen

I'm pretty sure you need to put it in DFU mode. I almost bricked one a few years ago and this is how I recovered mine.

Mine did the same thing. Put it in dfu mode and restored it.

(y) I'm an Android guy mostly but avoid the "Genius" bar if you can. Usually they just tell you to buy something new at OEM price and charge you to install it. I replaced my friend's old Macbook cracked monitor for $80 which they quoted $400 for.
