Location : Malta Marsaskala

 

Location of Capture : Malta, Dingli, Savio College

Date of Capture : 5-6 Months Ago

Habitat of Collection : Center of Savio College Nuptial Flight

Length : 11mm

Coloration : Seems Like Full Black

Tips of her legs are red and her mouth seems red also

I'm not quite sure, I think Messor, but it'd probably best to compare the queen to pictures of Messor and Aphaenogaster species which occur on Malta: http://antwiki.org/wiki/Malta

I initially though it was Aphaenogaster, but the more I thunk about it, she looks like Messor.

Messor capitatus, due to the structure of her propodeum, duller surface of her body, and her head shape.
