In case anyone is wondering why the forum was down half of the day, here is a simple explanation.
This morning some hardware broke causing the forum and some other equipment to go down. Once I got that equipment back up around noon PST, I found out the crash corrupted the database. I have now fixed the database and everything seems to be okay again.
Fortunately (unfortunately for other reasons), the forum will be moved to another data center in the near future where this particular issue would no longer be a possibility.
