Yes, they can. You will just have to feed them inside their tubes.

i suggest you to put test tube on container and add some soil, they easily stressed in test tube
Colony:
2 Odontomachus aciculatus
2 Polyrachis Dives
3 Camponotus sp

Get 3 cheap acrylic containers from the dollar shop. Something like this.

Those should do (just make sure they can't get out of them). Just add some sugars and food and they should be fine.

soil will make them comfortable cause they can't climb glass or plastic, they will take some soil to the tube

yes!
I raise all my semi-claustrals in a test tube for 1 week usually before opening it up in a tube and tubes setup.
that way they know the tube is safe and their home, otherwise they tend to nest in the outworld
But I usually keep my non bull ant semi-claustrals in a sealed test tube, especially polyrachis as they have very slow growth times and fair better as such, as the food is there inside the test tube
Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum
