i have a colony i found with a queen and 25 works but she does not seem to want to lay eggs anymore, but they eat protein and sugar
that's normal, It's nearly Winter.
I accidentally froze all my ants
i did but they stoped laying 4 weeks befor it got cold out
Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
ok so its not just me
i thought it was something i was doing, tnx
are your guys queen afraid of light like mine
Fear of light is pretty typical. My Formica queen had 5 workers since i caught her in June, one of which already died. The other four, along with the queen ceased all activity right around august-september and have remained in their tube, unless i provoke a worker to poke its head out. Come May, they should start acting up again and be on their way normal.
Current Colony:
4x Camponotus (hyatti?)
