I checked on the "Ant Care Sheets" but this species wasn't listed on there. I have two brachymyrmex patagonicus queens in the same test tube, and they already have a growing number of eggs. I want to hibernate them, but I've heard that the eggs can die, and that I should wait until they are larva, or workers, until I can hibernate the colony without any casualties. Have any thoughts?

I am pretty sure B. patagonicus does not hibernate. The ones where I live are active throughout winter.

This happened with one of my crematogaster queens and ny tetramoriim colony. Guess I didn't hibernate them early enough because the Crematogaster has a good pile of eggs and every time I look in the tetramorium's nest, I always see another clump of freshly laid eggs. I would suggest reverse hibernation then, so you hibernate them in the summer and enjoy antkeeping in winter.

Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
    and gathers its food at harvest.
