Hi,
My Pseudomyrmex Gracilis Mexicanus queen has not lay a single egg for several months. Does anyone know why? Thanks!

I was going to suggest she is trying to hibernate but then I looked and saw you are in Hawaii... I don't know if ants hibernate there...
Current Colony:
4x Camponotus (hyatti?)

If I'm not mistaken there's a dry season and a wet season at Hawaii right?
I' not exactly sure how that ties in with your Pseudomyrmex but it may have been in some sort of diapause.
Thanks for all the input! I've came to the conclusion that my queen is infertile (the other queens that I've caught around the same time all have workers or larvae. That's okay, though, because I can keep her as a special pet.

Are you sure she's infertile? Pseudomyrmex is an extremely difficult ant to keep and an even harder ant species to found from a single queen. I would make sure the conditions she's in (heat, light, vibrations, moisture, food, etc.) are perfect before you count her as infertile. Ice: http://www.formicult...m/user/857-ice/ had a colony at one point and they might still have one. If you continue to have problems I would ask her for some tips. Hope this helps!

Currently Keeping:
Trachymyrmex septentrionalis
Pheidole pilifera
Forelius sp. (Monogynous, bicolored) "Midwestern Forelius"
Crematogaster cerasi
Pheidole bicarinata
Aphaenogaster rudis
Camponotus chromaiodes
Formica sp. (microgena species)
Nylanderia cf. arenivega
Yeah, I'd agree with Mdrogun. While she might be infertile, I've also read (like Mdrogun said) Pseudomyrmex when started from just a queen is really hard. I never had any experience with them (always wanted a colony, just never even seen a single worker)...I wouldn't get give up just yet!
