Anyone buy the lawn ones from home improvement stores?

My Pogonomyrmex have been very uninterested in the dandelion mix. I've been wanting to buy Kentucky bluegrass but I don't know if the home improvement stuff are safe. There's one on amazon that someone recommended but it won't arrive until late next week. Would like to drive to a store and pickup a bag asap.

Keeps: Camponotus, Tetra

Wants (Please reach out if you have them for sale if you’re in the US): Acromyrmex Sp., Atta Sp., Cephalotes Sp., Myrmecocystus Sp (Prefer Mexicanus), Odontomachus Sp. (Prefer Desertorum), Pachycondyla Sp., Pheidole Sp (Prefer Rhea. The bigger the better. Not the tiny bicarinata), Pogonomyrmex Sp (Prefer Badius)., Pseudomyrmex Sp. (Prefer the cute yellow ones)

Try pet store instead. Seed mix for birds or canary are fine. Even crushed nuts like walnut or almonds etc. my Pogonomyrmex like nuts the most and proteins. Nuts is much more nutritious than seeds and easier for them to just eat. The larva will gladly take nut or insect pieces and will grow rapidly when fed high protein feed

Mine love dandelion, chia, and poppy seeds. Make sure to buy organic seeds. Dandelion seeds I normally get from THA or Amazon. Chia and poppy can be found at your local grocery store.

You can also simply give them a dandelion puff from the yard, provided you know it to be from a place that isn't using pesticides. It's hilarious to watch them take apart the puffs.

Starting this July I'm posting videos of my ants every week on youTube.
