I have noticed with all my ants that only one ant does the foraging, is this normal for young colonies?

There's never more than one ant out at a time.

All kept at 70 - 80ºF  ,50 - 70% humidity depending on the day lately its been very humid.

Camponotus herculeanus 20+ workers lots of eggs, larvae. The rest of the workers stay full of food near the queen.

Lasius neoniger 15+ worker lots of eggs, larvae. Growing rapidly just added to Talus. The test tube dried out so I moved them.

Formica fusca 5 workers very slow growing. I have their test tube linked to a small out world for feeding.

Very easily scared.

Current queens/colonies

Camponotus novaeboracensis x2

Camponotus pennsylvanicus x2

Camponotus herculeanus x1

Formica sp. x1

Lasius americanus x1  (Lasius alienus)

Lasius neoniger x1

Crematogastor cerasi x1

Myrmica sp. x1

My Camponotus modoc only have one worker foraging.. Well he's kinda just exploring all day, when they're hungry they usually have two workers out. There six nanitics in total.

Mine seem to keep most of the workers tending to the brood, so I think this is normal.
