Hello! I'm still fairly new to antkeeping so I require some help identifying this ant  :D

I found her roaming on my porch in Croatia, southwestern europe

I'd say it is a camponotus vagus but what really interests me is if she is an actual queen or just a major

Here are some pics of her, she is about 16mm long

Camponotus vagus

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Are we 100% sure that this isn't possibly a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus major?

Considering it was found in Croatia, I’d say ANTdrew is 100% sure.

Definitely a major, the queens have larger thoraxes, which is the middle part of the body.

Greetings from Zagreb, this is a C. vagus major as people already said, unfortunately their flights stopped ~3 months ago, in Zagreb they fly from beginning to mid May and though they usually have more flights in the beginning of June I've never seen this happen in Zagreb, biggest flights I recorded this year were in Maksimir on 2.5. and 10.5.
