I'm going to guess a Nylanderia species. Not too sure, as I am not very familiar with the ants of hong kong, but I do not see what else it would be.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

I'm 90% sure this is not Pratrechina longicornis, the shape is not correct, it is not leggy enough.

Thanks for the suggestion. As a beginner, those picture of specimen online look all the same in my eye.

that’s definitely paratrechina longicornis. Its much more slim and leggy than the standard nylanderia.

Upon closer inspection you might be correct. That first image threw me off a little bit.
