My name was an oopsie... Hello! I am the owner of a pogonomyrmex californicus with 26 workers, a pogonomyrmex rugosus with 3 workers, a formica francoeuri with about 150 workers, camponotus semitestaceus with 6 workers, and a brachymyrmex patagonicus with about 6 workers. comment if you want a photo of these excluding brachymyrmex.

I'd love to see your setup for the Californicus. I too have an early Californicus 3 queen colony with 10 workers. I feed fruit flies, Kentucky bluegrass seeds and canary seeds for now, but they haven't touched the canary seeds yet. What do your Californicus workers like to eat?

Hi.  I'm an native Californian who lives  in the Bay Area.  I'm going to grow a colony of Camponotus ants from a few ants I purchased from this site.  I plan to use my colony to teach my grandchildren entomology/ myrmecology, and hopefully they will not fear insects.

They need to learn to respect nature, yet not fear it. Don't want small children attempting to hug a velvet ant like it was some sort of furry rodent, or something.
