Hello all! I have been ant keeping for about 2 years and currently have 4 colonies (one Pheidole and three Camponotus floridanus). I am particularly interested in catching a few Tetramorium queens this year, and am seeking some advice. I know I am 2-3 months early, but I want to be prepared!
After doing a bit of research, and looking at the Queen Ant Spotting/Mating Chart by @dspdrew it seems that June is the best time to find them. I am located in central Florida, and am curious if Tetramorium still typically fly around June here. I typically find my queens by walking on sidewalks, particularly near forested areas the day after a rain. Does this sound like a good place and time to find Tetramorium? Do you have any other advice?
Thanks for the help!
