Attach a new test tube with tape or use a drinking straw, wedge it between the cotton between the old and new test tube, cover the old test tube make  it dark and comfortable, and shine light into the old one. ALTHOUGH, you don't have to force her. She will move when she sees fit and notices that she needs more water.
