I also really want to find this species (not on my top tier list to find though and would want to find accidentally) but I have spotted a major in my local forest running around so you can expect to find them in forests. Like any typical Camponotus nuptial flight; you would want to find queens and alates starting from 4:00 PM to time like even 10:00 PM (I usually look around 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM when I catch Camponotus in particular. I’d say black light in May she their peak nuptial flights occur, or you could look now. Good luck!
