Hello forum, today i want to share with you a few pics by Inaturalist user Simohaya (https://www.inatural...eople/simohaya; Attribution-NonCommercial CC licence) of a group of Yunnanese Macrotermes workers (and soldiers) open-foraging for some wood litter to be brought to their fungus gardens back home. Enjoy!

While workers harvest food, soldiers diligently stand guard. These are minor soldiers, and along major workers they make up the bulk of foraging parties.

An alerted minor soldiers showing its sabre-shaped mandibles threateningly. Note the triangular, hyaline-tipped labrum between them.
