Hellooooo, I recently received a L. americanus colony from JeffpBalderston. They arrived on July 1st with 4 larvae, and 30ish workers, I got a THA atom nest, with an outworld a little while back, so I moved them into there and also gave them a ByFormica micro feeder.20220710_134116.jpg Since then the queen has laid a nice batch of eggs, I also found out the colony doesn't like heat, a couple days ago I attached a heating cable underneath the nest and to the far side of the nestmate, and they moved the whole nest into the outworld.20220710_134018.jpg 20220710_134049.jpg

Hello, nothing really interesting has happend other than the queen laying more eggs, and getting more larvae, sadly no pupae yet but close. I was able to catch the queen laying an egg but wasn't able to take a pic 20220726_113258.jpg 20220726_112859.jpg

These gals are doin' pretty good, the queen has become a bit physrogastic, and laid some more eggs they now have abt 40ish workers, I gave them a superworm piece that they went crazy for, sadly I couldn't find my macro lense in time to see the swarm 20220815_201436.jpg

Sooo slight mishap, their liquid feed for sugars crystallized on all ports so they didn't have sugars for about a week and it killed about 3/4 of their population, I moved them back into a test tube and gave them so dyed byformica nector, now there nice and plump :)20220822_163222.jpg
