Uhh, Not sure really. Maybe 200-300ish? Plan on ordering a Fortress for them very soon.

Wow, I've just realized that I've never gotten a Lasius Neoniger collony before. And also awsome colony!

10 to 20 wingless fruit flies a day, and they always have byformica sunburst. I give them occasional cricket leg now and again.

that's good, I was thinking you should just put in an entire cricket or two, it firs the size of the colony :D

Around here neos are the most common species. The annual nuptial flights are insane. But they're still a beautiful species, especially when the queen becomes physogastric.

I've seen them fly before and caught some queens but I guess I never bothered to start an actual colony, I usually just gave em away or let them go.

Got a new home ordered for these gals. Can't wait to see how they grow this year. We've had a lot of new workers enclose, and now naked pupae? Also their feeding response is very huge now. Pretty cool to see.

Did you order a fortress? I'll be moving my 1.5yr Lasius cf neoniger colony into a mini hearth this spring but I'm hoping they outgrow it by the end of this season.

I did in fact order a custom fortress for them. Should be here next month sometime.

Well, I'm glad I ordered these ladies a new home. The soon to be had boom of workers will mean they'll need it for sure. The whole water tower is covered in eggs and larvae.

Awesome journal man. Be careful with the Size of the new nest you give them. You don't want to get too big. Even a nest of this size would still last them a good while. Most of my colonies I won't give them a new nest until I can't see any more nest at all.

I ordered them a custom THA fortress. I expect it won't be here for at least another week or so. No major rush on moving them just yet.
