its ok. also, for the termites, i'm pretty sure i'm the one who actually made the mistake of kind of stressing 1 of them out. the other 1, probably the queen, was just digging into the wood and doing her work. The king is so lazy... or was trying to guard their hole or something lol

I'm gonna make a termitat. Do you think it matters what type of wood I use? Termitats are made from Douglas Fir wood. Also is there anything special about termitats or are they litterally just a slab of wood in acrylic?

If I get some douglas fir wood from home depot it shouldn't have chemicals right? (As long as it's not pressure treated)

i'm not sure. Maybe you should ask home depot. unless you already did.

Looks like this stuff is chemcial free. Is it too new though? My dad thinks I should just get a random piece of lumber from the yard and use that. Not sure what to do.

Edit: I found an old piece of lumber in the yard. It's not pressure treated. Since it should be chemical free I'm just going to give them some slices and see if they eat it.

Zoots are still looking good. I swear I saw some weird thing on one of them where a wing would be. It was only on one side. Hope it's a wing bud or whatever.

Looks like Incisitermes minor to me. I'm no termite expert, but the red head on the reproductive is not something I have seen on any Cali Zootermopsis. I believe they are generally a concolorous brown.

And wow they are not Zoots? Never heard of dry wood termites living in rotten logs resting on the soil lol.
