Nope, you are allowed to ship ants anywhere in Canada. You can even ship to other provinces.

I would be interested in purchasing a queen and brood or workers.

I am a newbie.  What species might you suggest for  me?

I captured 2 formica queens - don't know exactly which type. Don't seem to be laying any eggs yet.  Caught July 21 and July 25

I just bought a camponotus herculeanus which my son is bringing to me today

Looks like they're selling fast. I'd love to find Aphaenogaster, do you have any tips for where and when you can find them? Or Crematogaster as well.

I tend to only find Aphaenogaster colonies in forests and away from rural areas. Crematogasters are sort of a wild card. I see them everywhere but can't seem to find many queens. Other Canadian members seem to be finding them like crazy though.

If all of my queens manage to get workers, I'll be looking for a new homes for them so this is good to know. I think I may be in a little over my head with this many but I didn't think I could actually get any to survive so far a lot of them have made it to Nanitic stage. I may have to actually pay people to not laugh at my colorful test tubes instead of them paying me. Next year I'll be prepared but I got hooked on ants in late May and had to scramble.
