I understand that a lot of ant species hibernate and they need this for a normal life cycle. My question is Hawaiian ants never go through a cold time that they would hibernate through. So in keeping these ant colonies do I need to hibernate them? I have a Pseudomyrmex Gracilis and brachymyrmex obsurior currently. Thank you for any help in this topic.

In tropical areas you should not attempt to hybernate your ants. It could kill them since they are not able to naturally handle the cold.
