Dear All,
How do you feed your Pogonomyrmex with sugary liquids? what do you give them? and how?
I am afraid I might not be giving them enough liquids.
Thank you,
Regards

Galileo feeders from byFormica. you can get them on amazon and they work with every sp i keep, including Veromessor so i would assume they would work for you too. Maybe someone else can second what I'm saying or tell me I'm stoopid >.<
I keep P. rugosus and P. californicus. For their carbs, I give them seeds. I (almost) never give them sugar water. If you're worried about them getting enough access to moisture, you can put a test tube with water plugged with cotton in their outworld. If you're set on sugar water you can use byFormica products.
Thank you for your replies Civz and JasonD. I have rugosus, barbatus and californicus. They all have byformica galileo with sunburst. They also have amaranth seeds available and every two days i give them a small cricket or a small roach which they devour completely.
Why i was wondering about sugary liquids was because I don't see them too often going for it, that's why i thought i might be doing something wrong/different.
Thank you once again,
regards
My colony has a plastic out world because my Pogonomyrmex colony cannot climb up plastic surfaces. In my out world I just add a test tube filled with sugar water and there is cotton that acts like a cork, stopping the liquid from spilling. The ants are still able to drink the sugar water. I always have my sugar water avialable for them. I just make sure it doesn't get dirty or molds.
