Hi everyone, I'm back with another M. minimum question. After getting a bunch of help from people here, I've sucessfully moved the colony into the formicarium, no escapes (yet), and they've picked out a little corner of the nest to keep the brood in.

The one thing I've been unsure about is what foods they prefer. So far, I've offered them Sunburst, sugar water, pinhead crickets, and fish food (as a test). Since they're so small, I can't really tell if they're drinking from the liquid feeders. Or maybe they're just not hungry right now. For keepers of M. minimum or similar, what foods/liquids did you feed your ants?

Monomorium minimum are not picky at all really. They just move pretty slow and can take a while to find foods. I feed mine Sunburst exclusively for sugars, and they have no trouble using byFormica feeders. For protein, they like all kinds of typical feeder insects, but you need to make sure to chop them up, so they can reach the insides. They also like various meats a lot.

"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.
