According to ant maps...

Messor structor - Native

Camponotus turkestanus - Native

Still, looking at the various species on antmaps, sounds like there's quite the variety. I'd love to see them. Also since English isn't their first language, I assume there's some translation issues.

You are right, there are a lot of ants in Russia, which you rarely see in collections. Most often, people contain the simplest Lasius niger. But in the suburbs you can easily meet the following species: Tetramorium caespitum, Leptothorax acervorum, Myrmica rubra, Lasius flavus, Lasius fuliginosus, Lasius niger, Formica sanguinea, Formica exsecta, Formica rufa, Formica fusca.

Much less common are Formica uralensis and Coptoformica forsslundi.

I personally like to keep species that are not found in Russia.

In addition to ants, I keep many other animals. For example, cats, a Jaco parrot, a python, a chameleon, poison dart frogs, scorpions. But my main love is marine aquariums.
