I went anting with a buddy yesterday in San Benito county and collected 4 Pogonomyrmex subdentatus queens. There were actually 5, but one of them was accidentally killed while trying to collect it.   I dug three of them up out of founding chambers, and two of them I grabbed as they were exiting their founding chamber.

My first queens of the 2021 anting season!!

I tubed the ants today.  It looks like one has died, the other three appear to be doing well.
