Not a bee. Too cloudy to tell what type of wasp it is.

I'm kind of at a loss with ID'ing this bee. It's about the size of a honeybee. The heavily furred legs make me think it could be some Apidae.

 I plugged your picture into iNaturalist and their suggested genus was Andrena. When I looked in Carril & Wilson’s Common Bees of Eastern North America, Andrena seems too small. The scopal hairs and size does suggest Apidae. There’s a whole lotta bees in that family :o

How can I find a bumblebee nest?

It is not easy! They usually use abandoned rodent burrows. You’ll have to follow workers hovering near the ground. If you’re lucky, you’ll see some coming in and out of a hole. I’ve only found two in a decade of trying. Don’t disturb any because many species are struggling.

That's a solitary bee for sure. I can't narrow down to species though but I've seen tons of them too.

Anyone kept paper wasps before? Collecting the wasp covered nests is a bit exhilarating  :D Providing them with different colored tissue paper makes for some beautiful nests.

I'm hoping to try wasps next year. I have a bee nest for solitary bees and of course a few days ago I found a wasp queen nesting in one with an egg nestled in a tube with all my leafcutter bee cocoons. Protecting her soon to be born pollinating frenemies.
