Queen 2 and colony id request #3 in the same album are from the same location, lower on the mountain along a rocky path.  The yellow Lasius like ants were next the a black Lasius colony.  Any thoughts on what they are?

I'm new to this as of May 2017 and I'd have to say that this site is such an amazing resource. Having pros helping to ID ants is incredible and super helpful.  I will be applying to GAN Project for Vancouver (lower mainland) once I have some worker colonies as per Ants Canada.

  • Formica podzolica (12)
  • Lasius alienus (33)
  • Myrmica sp. (3)

I'd like to know more specifics to Queen #1 to which Formica it would be. It's definitely not F. podzollica as that's more of a city dweller grass ant.

The Formica queen appears to be Formica lasiodes, from the F. neogagates group.

What's the difference between F. lasoides and F. accreta? I was thinking it would be either of those.
