For such inconspicuous termites they seem suprisingly active.
Yup. They are more active than a lot of Subterranean termites I've had. They are almost on par (but not quite) with the Formosan termites I had at one point. Though I've had Amitermes before from the Palm Springs area, and they explored in the open quite a lot. They were rather ant-like in terms of activity. Maybe with giving them an expansion to their setup, they'll be as active as the ones from Palm Springs. Their glass jar didn't offer much room to do much or expand.
