Today I found a “velvet ant” under a rock at my family farm. I had briefly read about them but stopped when I learned they have a painful sting. I was pretty excited and brought it home in hopes of it maybe being a queen. However after further research I learned they are actually solitary wasps hahaha But at least I was right about it being female. The more you know lol

Haha, same here!  I got one 1 year ago, before I knew much of anting.

I was so excited, and it turned out to be a wasp! Nooooo!
