Was feeding Pogonomyrmex. Worker got loose. Had no idea. It somehow crawled into my shirt.

First sting was near neck, and didn't think much of it. It hurt. Thought it was nothing. Then second sting was RIGHT ON THE NIPPLE. OMG.

Third sting was stomach. That's when I realized it was a Pogonomyrmex. Took off shirt and found her crawling up my chest.

IN SO MUCH PAIN      :*(

The moment I saw the topic title, I knew it had to be about Pogonomyrmex.

I wasn't disappointed. Feeling for ya, Nurbs!

You need to let Pogonomyrmex maricopa sting you and see how it feels.  Apparently they have one of the worst Pogonomyrmex spp. stings.

UPDATE.

Been stung before - once on the feet and another time on the arm. Both hurt, but the pain on the nips was on a whole new level.

Pain on neck and stomach are mostly gone. BUT THE NIPPLES ARE STILL THROBBING AND PULSATING, though on a lesser scale.

It was initially so bad that I put ice inside a ziploc and applied it to my left man boobs, like I was breastfeeding. Looks like the nips have more nerve endings than other parts of the body.

Gawd. YOU GUYS DON'T EVEN KNOW. Remember in grade school/middle school, where your idiot friends would grab ur nipples and do a "titty twister"??? Imagine that, except on an order several times more painful, and CONSTANT.

See guys?! This is why I don't like to sell Pogonomyrmex. Every kid always ask this. Can you imaging if you were allergic?

Not the nipple!
I don't know these ants but I've been bitten/stung by jumping ants, Myrmecia sp. while gardening, I couldn't bend my fingers and it hurts like fire, I'd rather stick my hand in a fryer!
Perhaps try vinegar, it works on most stings but it's better straight away. Pour it into a bottle cap and hold it on the sting, or less successful, soak a Band-aid. It works best when the vinegar is refreshed often.
Good luck!

Damn, that's gotta be rough. Nipples have to be one of the most sensitive parts of the body. They can detect the health and dietary needs of a newborn and adjust milk production accordingly so I imagine that would be pretty bad, even in men.

I don't envy you at all and I'm not sure I'd put vinegar on that part of my anatomy. ;)

I just got some Pogonomyrmex maricopa workers, so maybe I'll test them out, haha.

Oh man, hope it gets better. I once sat on a boiling mad tetramorium colony that I had to dig up(they messed up our lawn). Hurt like heck and I had to hose myself down just to get rid of them all.

Thank you everyone for the sympathy and nipple love. It really shows you all care - not just for my antkeeping experience, but also my man bewbs.

It was still sore on the second day, but by the third day everything was right with the world and it was all unicorns and rainbows again.
