These pictures are not mine. I believe there's a good chance they are Camponotus vicinus. I would appreciate a second opinion or confirmation! Thanks.

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Most likely Bend.
2. Date of collection: May-July most likely, give or take a few months.
3. Habitat of collection: Subterranean most likely.
4. Length (from head to gaster): That test tube seems like it has a 16mm mouth. We're looking at 9mm-11mm for the queen.
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black with red-brown thorax.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Looks like a Camponotus.
7. Distinguishing behavior: Walks like a Camponotus.
8. Nest description: No info.

9. Nuptial flight time and date: No info.

Definitely Camponotus. Not sure about the species with those images.

Might be a Myrmentoma species. Camponotus nearcticus or Camponotus hyatti maybe?

The only other plausible candidate I can think of is C. vicinus. Which may be more likely.
