I just pulled off the mos amazing feat ever! I scooped some dirt out of my backyard and put it in a small container. I started to come across some Strumigenys membranifera workers, and I eventually came across some pupae and some workers carrying eggs, at the very edge of the scoop of dirt. I figured I could do a Berlese funnel tomorrow and look for the queen, if she was even in there. As I was going to put the lid back on the container, when I saw a rather plump individual on the top of the soil. I looked at her under my eyeloop, and would you believe it, it was the queen! So now I have a small colony of Strumigenys membranifera! Man am I lucky!
