3. Habitat of collection: Large clear plastic covering over a wood pile. Several others were found with her.
4. Length (from head to gaster): 5mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Mostly shinny black with her legs and pronotum being rusty reddish-orange. Her legs are more orange than her pronotum. Her antennae are darker than her pronotum.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Head slightly wider than mesosoma with a flat top. More slender than C. novaeboracensis and hairs shorter than C. pennsylvanicus. Single petiole nobe. 12 antennal segments. Mesosoma similar to other Camponotus.
7. Distinguishing behavior: Quickly moving. When spotted, individuals will freeze until threat has passed.
8. Nest description: Nest located somewhere in the wood pile.
